One of the oldest traditions of Christmas in the Erzgebirge is the lighting of the windows in the houses of the miners of the time. The light showed the miners the way home. In the past, candles were placed in the windows, but nowadays almost all the lights used are electric. Whether candle arches, angels and miners or window pictures, the whole range of Erzgebirge folk art finds a temporary home in people's homes at Christmas time.
Traditional candle arch
Weigla, the "candle arch workshop" from Deutschneudorf on the border with the Czech Republic, produces not only the popular high-quality candle arches with Plexiglas but also traditional Christmas decorations such as lace lights or illuminated window pictures. The Christmas tree window picture with forest motif is particularly appealing to animals- and forest lovers. The shape of the window picture is reminiscent of a fir tree, with a forest motif in the middle. The fir tree is interspersed with stars and a cone motif, so that the light is beautifully distributed. The light- and shadow play enchants children in particular. The picture in the center shows a proud stag with imposing antlers. The doe stands facing him and the little stag calf lies between the two. The scenery is framed at the edge by trees,which offer the group of animals protection from prying eyes. Special accents are created by the different colors. The stag family is designed in a darker shade of plywood and stands out impressively from the surroundings. Naturally, only local woods are used.
Using the window picture in the USA / North America / Japan with 110 V
The window picture can be operated with a voltage of 230 V as well as 110 V.
Please note, that a plug adapter is required to connect this item abroad (Japan / North America). The voltage of the light source must also be adjusted.
